Man alive! It's been really busy this week!
When my daughters were studying for their exams, I encouraged them to do a revision timetable. This meant that when they had done what was planned, they could then enjoy the rest of the day without feeling guilty that they should still be studying.
As I have recently been doing "as much as I can", and not taking any time off, I thought I should follow the same principle, and get weekly plans in place. Unfortunately, I have still got loads to do from last week let alone getting on with the tasks for this week so that idea didn't work!!
It is so nice to see the sun, and the vegetables are doing well.
Lasts week I transplanted cabbage, green sprouting broccoli, purple sprouting broccoli, salad onions, and onions. The onions and salad onions are shown below:

I read somewhere that you shouldn't plant things in straight lines as it makes it easier for the pests, but I think that is rubbish and prefer the tidy and ordered approach.
The onions shown are next to the lettuce which are doing nicely under the protective netting

As are the radish. We'll have these on the website next week

Both the first plantings of early and second early potatoes have started sprouting with the first earlies predictably doing better

Sowings last week were climbing bean, leek, courgette, squash, chard, spinach, and more green sprouting broccoli. I sow things like chard, leeks and spinach in individuals cells with 3 or 4 seeds in each cell to make a clump. Last week I sowed 3,373 seeds in 1,094 cells!
This week, we've got more potatoes to go in, and kale and cavolo nero to be transplanted
The seedlings are looking super healthy (kale then cavolo)

Cucumbers are supposed to be transplanted to the polytunnel next week, but I'm not sure if they can wait that long

The runner beans are also planned for next week but they definitely can't wait!

The website is up to date with current availability including the savoy cabbage leaves which we found to be really good
Enjoy the sunshine!
